USC women's lacrosse upset No. 3 seed Florida this weekend to advance to the NCAA Elite Eight.

The unseeded Trojans beat Jacksonville, 13-10, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to advance to a rematch with host Florida. The Gators topped USC, 15-10, earlier this season, but the Trojans avenged that loss by taking them down, 15-12, in Gainesville yesterday.
Trailing 12-11 with six minutes left in the game, the Women of Troy dug deep and rattled off four straight goals to clinch the victory.
USC's seniors stepped up in the win, as Cynthia Del Core scored four goals, while Michaela Michael, Kylie Drexel, Drew Jackson and Gabby McMahon each scored two goals apiece. Junior goalie Gussie Johns, meanwhile, racked up 14 saves, caused two turnovers and grabbed seven ground balls.
USC has now won 12 straight games, and gets to go for No. 13 this Saturday at Boston College. The Eagles are coming off an upset of their own, having downed No. 6 seed Syracuse, 21-10, yesterday.
Saturday's game at BC will mark USC's second straight trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals, and a win would put the team in its first-ever Final Four. Saturday's game begins at 10 a.m. PT.
