After a slow start in the fall, despite a big win in football, USC had major ground to make up in the race for the Crosstown Cup against UCLA. The Trojans have blown the Bruins away lately, including four rivalry wins last weekend alone, to close the gap to just five points.

While postseason play could shift things around, the school that reaches 100 points clinches the cup, so everything rides on this weekend's baseball series. UCLA comes to Dedeaux Field on Thursday (6 p.m.), Friday (7 p.m.) and Saturday (7 p.m.) needing to win at least two out of three to grab five massive points. If the Trojans win the series, USC will pull even at 95-all and tiebreakers will decide this year's winner.
