Despite a comeback effort, sixth-ranked USC men's tennis fell to No. 8 UCLA in Westwood on Saturday.

After splitting a pair of matches with the Bruins earlier in the season, the Trojans trekked across town with a share of the Pac-12 regular season title on the line. But the Bruins took a 1-0 lead by winning two of three doubles matches, and built upon that lead in singles play.
The Bruins went up 3-0 after two wins in singles, before USC's Thibault Forget got the Trojans on the board with a win on Court 5. On Courts 1 and 6, USC had momentum, but the Bruins clinched on Court 4 before those two matches could finish.
With the loss, USC finished the regular season at 22-5 (5-2 Pac-12) and earned the No. 3 seed in the Pac-12 Tournament. The Trojans will play the winner of the first-round matchup between No. 6 Utah and No. 7 Washington on Thursday at 3 p.m.
