Claes and Hughes' winning streak stretches back over two years, beginning on April 2, 2015. Between then and now, the duo has won 99 straight matches -- all but eight in straight sets -- including the 2015 AVCA Pairs National Championship and the 2016 Pac-12 Pairs Championship. Their 118-3 overall record together makes them the winningest pair in USC beach volleyball history.
Claes and Hughes' success on Court 1 has helped the Trojans win back-to-back national titles en route to 50 consecutive dual match victories.
No. 1 USC is 20-0 this season heading into Friday's matches against Washington and No. 15 Arizona State.
Claes and Hughes have a shot at 100 when they take on the Huskies' top team at 4 p.m. on Friday. Should they prevail, they go for 101 against the Sun Devils at 6 p.m. Both matches take place at USC's Merle Norman Stadium. Admission is free.
