USC swimmer Anika Apostalon was named the Pac-12's 2017 Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Women's Swimming and Diving, the conference announced today.

Apostalon is a senior psychology major with a 3.92 GPA who earned CSCAA Scholar-All-American first team honors in 2016 and is a 2017 co-captain. She transferred to USC from San Diego State with ambitions to study the intersection of technology and behavior. Earlier this month, she lent her words of encouragement to the Pac-12 initiative to celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day.
In the pool, Apostalon is an All-American who helped USC to NCAA and Pac-12 relay titles last year. She was the anchor for USC's first-ever NCAA title team in the 400y free relay.
Apostalon, the second Trojan to win this award, is gearing up now for the Pac-12 Championships in Federal Way, WA, starting tomorrow, as one final tune-up before the NCAA Championships in March.
