Both Johns and Miller played key roles in No. 3 USC's 11-10 overtime victory against No. 9 Northwestern.
Johns, who was recently named to the U.S. National Women's Lacrosse team, posted a career-high 17 saves against the Wildcats -- the second-most in program history. She allowed just 10 goals on 35 shots, and made a crucial stop on a one-on-one opportunity for the Cats in overtime. Last year's national leader in goals against average seems to be picking up right where she left off.
Miller, meanwhile, has established her presence in a short period of time. The nation's No. 1 recruit this year is tied for the team lead with five goals so far, including the sudden death game-winner vs. Northwestern. She finished the game with three goals, three caused turnovers, two ground balls and one draw control.
Johns, Miller and the Trojans are 2-0 heading into Friday's matchup with Florida in Gainesville. Follow the team on Twitter to stay up-to-date on scores and information!
