Former USC football head coach John Robinson was named to the Cotton Bowl Hall of Fame, the Cotton Bowl announced today (Dec. 28).
Robinson, who led the Trojans to a record-setting 1995 Cotton Bowl victory, will be inducted during enshrinement ceremonies this spring at AT&T Stadium.

Robinson was in attendance today when the class was unveiled at the Goodyear Big Play Luncheon in Dallas in front of fans and the USC and Ohio State football teams who will battle in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic on Dec. 29.
Robinson won nearly 75 percent of his games (104-35-4) at USC, including a memorable victory that took place in the 1995 Cotton Bowl Classic when Troy handed Texas Tech a decisive 55-14 defeat. Robinson and his Trojans logged one of the most incredible performances ever in the Cotton Bowl Classic. The Trojans set Cotton Bowl records for total offense, passing yards, total points, points in one quarter and points in one half. USC rolled up 578 yards in offense. Defensively, Troy stymied Tech at every turn.Â
A judging committee comprised of media representatives and athletic administrators voted from a ballot consisting of 60 nominees that included former players, coaches, bowl administrators and others who have made special contributions to the Classic. The honorees helped shape the tradition of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic and college football history.
