Cotton Bowl Practice #3: Notes
December 14, 2017 | Football, USC Ripsit Blog, Features
The Trojans put in their entire game plan for Ohio State after another physical practice.
- The USC injury report remained largely unchanged from Monday's, according to head coach Clay Helton. "We held just one player today and that was S Bubba Bolden with a hip flexor. I would imagine he would be back either tomorrow or Monday."Â
- Last night, walk-ons K Chase McGrath and P Reid Budrovich received scholarships for the 2018 season. "Those kids come in, they compete, they win the job and then you see how productive they've been over the entire year. It was neat to do it in that setting in front of our entire team and our Trojan family and felt it was the right time."
- Helton singled out OLB Uchenna Nwosu calling him "one of the most special players in college football." Helton believes that Nwosu will be playing football for a long time. "He is that Von Miller type player that can really carry over to Sundays in the NFL."Â
- Preparing for a bowl game brings a lot more time than a regular season game and Helton has been using that time to help develop some younger players. "We have been able to play a lot of our twos and I think it has helped our young wideouts and DBs really be able to jump out there and do some nice things. It has been nice to get some of the guys that have been injured back out there on the field a little bit."
