Meet Andrew Vorhees
November 02, 2017 | Football, USC Ripsit Blog, Features
Position: OT-OG
Class: Freshman
Size: 6-foot-6, 310 lbs.
Age: 18
High School (Hometown): Kingsburg (Kingsburg, CA)
Game: Vorhees is an impressive physical specimen at a young age. He benefited from coming in early to build up his body for the season and learn the playbook. Early in the season, he was pressed into duty at right tackle, but now he has settled in at right guard since the season-ending injury to Viane Talamaivao.
Prep Career: Vorhees earned 2016 Prep Star All-American, Tacoma News Tribune Western 100, USA Today All-California second team, Cal-Hi Sports All-State second team, All-Central Sequoia League Lineman of the Year and more during his senior season at Kingsburg. He also played on the other side of the ball, racking up 32 tackles, 4 sacks and a fumble recovery for a TD in 2016.
USC OL coach Neil Callaway on Vorhees: "Probably as hard a worker as we've got on the offensive line. Really good ability. Been very pleased with the way he's progressed."
Fun Fact: Vorhees is an avid hunter and fisherman.
