Legendary USC water polo coach Jovan Vavic has a chance to earn his 500th win as the head of the men's team tomorrow at Stanford.
In his 22 seasons as head coach, Vavic has compiled a 499-82 (.859) record and has won nine national championships with the men's team, including six straight titles from 2008-2013. Since joining USC in 1995, Vavic has never had a losing season at the helm of the men's team. Vavic also coaches the women's team, and his 500th win with that squad came against none other than Stanford.
Tomorrow, Vavic has a chance to repeat that feat when the No. 2 Trojans take on the No. 5 Cardinal at Stanford's Avery Aquatic Center.

The Trojans carry a 5-0 record into the matchup, having outscored their opponents by a total of 97 goals to 13 this season, for an average margin of victory of 16.8.
Stanford, though, always presents a great challenge for USC's squad. The Trojans hold a 62-60 edge in the series, and the four matchups between the two teams last season (three of which USC won) were decided by an average of just 2.25 goals.
Vavic and the Trojans fight for 500 tomorrow at 1 p.m.
