Freeman has been key in helping the No. 9 Trojans set a school record with seven consecutive shutouts. The Royal Palm Beach, FL native has been on the pitch for all 654 minutes of USC's shutout streak.
The honor is Freeman's first on the defensive side of the ball, but she earned the Pac-12's Offensive Player of the Week award last season. Freeman is the second Trojan to win the defensive honor this year, as Ally Prisock was awarded it on Sept. 12.
Next up for USC is a trip to Oregon to face the Ducks on Thursday and the Oregon State Beavers on Sunday.
