Rio 2016 will be a family affair for Nia Ali. Not only will she have the Trojan Family supporting her, but the USC alum will have her husband, Michael Tinsley, competing in the 400m hurdles, and her 14-month-old son, Titus, in her corner.
The whole experience is playing out like a dream for Ali, who finished third at the U.S. Trials to make her first Olympic team.
"I can't find the words to describe how excited I am," she said. "I'm so excited I get to represent the country, and I get to do it with my whole family there."
Ali, 27, was the 2011 NCAA champion in the 100m hurdles for USC. She was also an All-American in the heptathlon.
Since then, Ali took gold at the 2011 World University Games in the 100m hurdles. She also won the 60m hurdles at the 2014 World Indoor Championships and the 2014 USA Indoor Championships.
