For the first time ever, USC men's basketball will have two alums in a single Olympic tournament as Dwight Lewis got the last minute call for Venezuela to join his college teammate, Team USA's DeMar DeRozan, in Rio.
Initially, Lewis narrowly missed the cut, but Brooklyn Nets guard Greivis Vasquez pulled out with an injury, providing the Trojan the opportunity of a lifetime. Lewis has earned his spot though, playing for the Venezuela national team since 2011.
Since leaving USC, Lewis played in the NBA Summer League with the Houston Rockets before moving to Venezuela to play professionally. He has been with Trotamundos de Carabobo in Valencia since 2011.
At USC, Lewis was a consistent performer over his four-year career, which included three trips to the NCAA Tournament. He is 10th on the Trojans all-time scoring list with 1,460 points.
