Rebecca Heyliger is one of two swimmers that Bermuda will send to Rio 2016, giving the USC alum her first shot at Olympic glory. She qualified by reaching the B standard at the Validus Bermuda National Championships, swimming 26.13 to make the cut by four hundredths of a second.
"When I saw the time I was like, 'I did it,'" said Heyliger, who is the national record holder in the 50m free. "I'm so excited and love swimming for Bermuda and take so much pride in it."
The 2015 USC co-captain impressed in and out of the pool during her college career. Heyliger earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention as a sophomore and a junior.
