Name: Joel Dennerley
Country: Australia
Event: Men's Water Polo
Dennerley was a rock for USC in goal from 2008-11, becoming the program's all-time saves leader, winning four consecutive national championships and collecting the 2011 Cutino Award. His remarkable college career has propelled him to even more success internationally and now a second Olympic Games.
After helping Australia to a seventh place finish at London 2012, Dennerley will again be in goal for the Sharks at Rio 2016. The Aussies recently finished fifth at the FINA World League Super Final, but they are expecting an even better result at the Olympics.
"In my opinion there are 10 countries who could win a medal and I believe we are one of them. It will come down to how teams react under pressure," said Australia head coach Elvis Fatovic.
