USC junior Amalie Iuel will represent her native Norway at Rio 2016, qualifying for her first Olympic Games in the 400m intermediate hurdles. She owns the national record in the event, running 55.79 recently at the European Championships.
Iuel described her run to Rio as "surreal", notching a career milestone at the age of 22. The 2016 Pac-12 Track & Field Women's Field Athlete of the Year is also an immensely talented heptathlete, winning the conference title this year, but she chose to focus on the 400m IH for this Olympics.
