USC beach volleyball's two-time national champion duo Sara Hughes and Kelly Claes took a bite out of the Big Apple this weekend, competing in the AVP New York City Open. The amateurs made it all the way to the semifinals, narrowly losing to USC alum April Ross and three-time Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings, who went on to win the tournament.
Hughes and Claes made the most of their time in Manhattan, including playing a little pepper in Times Square.
