USC women's volleyball senior libero Taylor Whittingham will travel to China this June as a member of the 2016 Pac-12 All-Star team, the latest of three Trojans in the last four years to earn a spot on the prestigious annual trip. The group of 12 talented student-athletes from around the conference will depart for Shanghai on June 19 to play Chinese teams in three of the country's major cities before returning home on July 1.
"I am excited for this special and unique opportunity," said Whittingham, who joins Natalie Hagglund and Samantha Bricio as the third Trojan named to the Pac-12 All-Star team since its inaugural trip in 2013. "I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know players from the other great programs in our conference and to experience a new country in such a unique way. It's definitely nice to be able to branch out, and to be able to do it this way is something I never could have imagined."
The tour is another milestone for Pac-12 Global, an initiative to promote goodwill and transformative life experiences through student-athlete exchanges and sport, and to showcase the Conference and its member institutions in China.
