USC women's lacrosse's phenomenal year four start got even better on Saturday as the Women of Troy took down San Diego State, 20-6, at McAlister Field. Now a program-record 11-0, the No. 7 Trojans continue to charge forward with six regular season games remaining.Â
The victory was the eighth by double-digits for USC this season, and the Trojans were led by none other than Michaela Michael who is second in the nation in total goals this season (44). The junior attacker recorded three goals and a program-record tying six assists in the win, her 22nd-career hat trick and eighth this season. Seniors Caroline de Lyra and Amanda Johansen joined the hat trick party with four and three goals, respectively.
The Trojans currently boast the top scoring offense and defense in the country, outscoring opponents 183-50 in 11 games with an average margin of victory of 12.09 goals per game. In the next two weeks, USC's undefeated record will be challenged with four consecutive road games beginning with a trip to the Rocky Mountains this weekend. On Friday, the Women of Troy take on Colorado at 1 p.m. PT on Pac-12 Networks before facing Denver on Sunday at 11 a.m. PT on Altitude TV. A web stream will be provided for Sunday's game.
