Since 1984, Tim Tessalone has steered the USC Sports Information Department, experiencing every story that college athletics has to offer. Always the calm inside the storm, Tessalone is now being honored for his body of work as one of the newest inductees into the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Hall of Fame.

"I have worked with virtually every SID in America over the last 30 years, and Tim is the best," said USC athletic director Pat Haden. "This is a well deserved honor for one of the most loyal servants to our athletic department and university."
Tessalone graduated from USC in 1978 and then started as an assistant SID in 1979 before taking over the head job five years later. He won the 2013 Bert McGrane Award, given annually by the Football Writers Association of America to an FWAA member who has performed great service to the organization and/or the writing profession. Under Tessalone, USC is a five-time winner of the "Super 11" award, which recognizes the best sports information departments in college football (FBS).
