Not Your Average Tour

More than 4,000 children flooded the USC campus last Sunday for USC's annual Day in Troy event which provides elementary and middle school students, and their families, the opportunity to experience a college environment. From campus tours led by student-athelets to an educational and activity session at the Galen Center to a personalized fan fest and tickets to the USC women's basketball game, it was a day to be remembered for the athletes and children alike.

"I think it's really important because the students get to see a little bit of what college life is like," said junior beach volleyball player Sara Hughes. "Just seeing a university like USC hopefully gives [kids] aspirations to work really hard."

Over 150 student-athletes participated in the day-long event either by leading tours, teaching the educational session or signing autographs and having fun at the carnival-style fan fest.
