USC women's tennis entered 2016 with high hopes as the No. 2 team in the nation, but the Women of Troy suffered a surprise stumble on Friday, losing to No. 18 Pepperdine, 4-3. The Trojans responded well by coming out the next day to cruise past Saint Mary's, 6-1.

Sophomore Madison Westby (pictured) was the best performer of the week, collecting a pair of singles wins in the No. 2 slot without dropping a set. She also won her doubles match against Pepperdine with her partner, Rianna Valdes.
