The USC men's golf team started spring competition on the right foot, finishing in first place at the Amer Ari Invitational in Waikoloa, Hawaii, over the weekend. The Trojans edged out their crosstown rival UCLA, scoring a combined 29-under to UCLA's 26-under to clinch the title.

Junior Rico Hoey continues to leave his mark on USC's golf program, showcasing his talent once again in Hawaii by scoring a season-best 14-under to finish in second place overall, marking his fourth top-seven finish this season. Joining Hoey in the Top 10 was sophomore Jonah Texeira, who finished in seventh after shooting 8-under. The finish marks the sophomore's third consecutive top 10 mark this season.
