New Year, New Result

USC women's lacrosse continues to grow by leaps and bounds as a program. The latest example came Saturday when the Women of Troy upset No. 5 Duke, the team that knocked the Trojans out of the NCAA Tournament last season, for USC's first-ever win over a Top 10 opponent.

Junior attacker Kylie Drexel scored four goals to highlight the statement victory, which the Women of Troy dominated from the outset, ultimately winning 11-5 in Costa Mesa. Michaela Michael and Caroline de Lyra added two goals apiece.

The Trojans are now 2-0 on the season, surging up the national rankings to No. 12. USC does not play again until March 4 when Michigan comes to McAlister Field.
