Thomas spent the last three seasons in a similar role at LSU after leaving USC, where he was a defensive intern and recruiting assistant. He had previously worked with Lane and Monte Kiffin at Tennessee after graduating from Lipscomb University. He also briefly held the same role at Bowling Green between his stops at USC and LSU.
