No. 7 USC women's swimming performed admirably in its final two regular season home meets of the season, upsetting No. 3 Cal and falling by just four points to No. 2 Stanford this past weekend. The Women of Troy are now 7-2 overall and 5-1 in Pac-12 action with just one regular season meet remaining.

Just one day before Senior Day, it was a freshman who gave the Trojans their spark against No. 3 Cal. Riley Scott won three races in the dual meet, capturing first in the 100y and 200y breaststrokes and a thrilling come-from-behind victory in the 200y IM to help USC upset the Bears who were previously unbeaten in conference. Her win in the 200y IM put the Trojans just three points behind their opponent heading into the final relay of the day and Anika Apostlaon, Kasia Wilk, Evan Swenson and Kirsten Vose made sure her effort didn't go to waste. USC's 200y free relay finished in 1:30.64 to clinch a 153-147 meet victory.
On Saturday, the Trojans found themselves locked in a back-and-forth dual match yet again, this time against undefeated Stanford. USC gave it its best shot on Senior Day, with four Trojans winning individual events and the 400y free relay team setting a pool record, but ultimately the Cardinal prevailed, defeating the Women of Troy, 152-148.
USC will travel just across town for its final regular season dual match against UCLA on February 12. The crosstown showdown will begin at 2 p.m. PT.
