On Friday, the Women of Troy, led by Edwards' career-high 24 points, battled down to the wire in Salt Lake City to secure the win. The game featured seven ties before the Trojans were able to push ahead late in the third quarter. After shooting 50 percent in the first half to Utah's 52 percent, USC turned up the heat after the break to outshoot the Utes 45 to 40 percent in the game. Kristen Simon, who finished with a double-double of 10 rebounds and 12 points, helped her team outrebound its opponent 37-35. Jaco contributed 12 points in the Trojans' winning effort.
The Trojans cooled off significantly on Sunday in snowy Boulder, shooting just 39 percent in their narrow loss to Colorado. Led by Fagbenle's eighth double-double this season (17 points, 13 rebounds), USC worked its way out of a nine-point third quarter deficit to tie things up in the fourth. While the Women of Troy forced 18 turnovers in the game, the Buffaloes outrebounded the Trojans 44-31 en route to their first Pac-12 victory of the season.
USC continues their four-game road stretch on Friday against Arizona (7 p.m. PT) and finishes at Arizona State on Sunday at 1 p.m. PT. The game against the Wildcats will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks.
