First, the Women of Troy host the No. 9 Arizona State Sun Devils on Friday at 6:00 p.m. The last time the two teams met, the Trojans nearly pulled off an impressive upset in the desert but eventually lost, 69-68, on free throws in the final seconds. USC is coming off of a difficult weekend in Oregon, where it lost both of its games to move to 18-10 on the season.
Sunday will conclude the Women of Troy's regular season as they host the Arizona Wildcats. It is also the annual Day of Troy event, where USC hosts hundreds of children and their families to tour campus and take part in an educational S.C.O.R.E. program. Since it is the team's final home game, the Trojans will also say farewell to graduating seniors Fagbenle (below) and Barrett. Fagbenle is the team's leading scorer and rebounder (13.8 ppg, 8.8 rpg) and has notched nine double-doubles this season. Barrett has captained the Trojan offense for the last four years, leading the team in assists with 5.8 assists per game this season before she was benched due to eligibility issues on January 15.
This weekend is crucial for USC as it looks to notch a strong seed in the Pac-12 tournament. The Women of Troy will compete to bring home another Pac-12 Championship next weekend (March 3-6) in Seattle, Washington. For in-game updates and more, be sure to follow @USCWBB.
