Kristen Simon and Minyon Moore of USC women's basketball were named the Pac-12 Player and Freshman of the week, respectively, following their efforts in USC's two recent wins.Click here for the full release!
In USC's upset win over Texas A&M in College Station, Simon led the way with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Just a few days later against Sacramento State, Simon posted a career-high 23. Simon's 16.3 PPG ranks sixth in the Pac-12 so far this season.
Moore posted 7 points in the win over the Aggies (USC's first over a ranked opponent since beating UCLA in January), before putting up 13 points and 15 assists against the Hornets. Those 15 assists are the second-most in USC history (Rhonda Windham, 17, 1981). Moore leads all Pac-12 freshmen in assists (5.88 per game) and is the highest-scoring freshman in the conference, averaging 13.1 PPG.
Both Moore and Simon earned the Pac-12 weekly awards for the first time in their career. They'll take a break before their next chance to win another, as USC's next game is on Dec. 16 vs. Grambling State in the Women of Troy Classic. Click here for tickets!
