Adoree' Jackson Named Hornung Award Finalist

For the second consecutive year, USC junior cornerback-wide receiver-returner Adoree' Jackson has been named among 4 finalists for the 2016 Paul Hornung Award, giving annually to the most versatile player in college football.
Jackson is joined as a finalist by Michigan's Jabrill Peppers, Stanford's Christian McCaffrey (the 2015 winner) and Oklahoma's Dede Westbrook.
The announcement of the award, presented by Texas Roadhouse, was made today by the Louisville Sports Commission, owners and operators of the Award, along with football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung. The 16-person Paul Hornung Award National Selection Committee chose the finalists, with fans generating the 17th vote online. The 2016 Paul Hornung Award winner will be chosen from among the finalists and announced Wednesday, Dec. 7.
Fan voting for the winner opens today at www.paulhornungaward.com and will count as the 17th vote. Fans can vote once every 24 hours for their favorite among the four finalists.
Jackson, who also is a semifinalist for the 2016 Thorpe Award and Lott IMPACT Trophy, has 45 tackles, team-high and Pac-12 leading 4 interceptions, a team-high 7 deflections and 2 fumble recoveries on defense this season, along with 16 kickoff returns for Pac-12 leading 29.0 average with a TD and 15 punt returns for Pac-12 leading 14.7 average with a TD. He also has 3 carries for 20 yards.
In the national statistics, he currently is fifth in kickoff return TDs (1, first in Pac-12), sixth in punt return TDs (1, second in Pac-12), seventh in punt returns (14.7, first in Pac-12), ninth in kickoff returns (29.0, first in Pac-12), 15th in fumbles recovered (2, fifth in Pac-12) and 24th in interceptions (0.4, fourth in Pac-12).
He owns the USC career kickoff return yardage record (1,838 yards) and he is ninth on USC's all-time punt return chart (483 yards). He has scored 12 touchdowns via reception (5), interception (1), punt return (3) and kickoff return (3) in his career. He has 5 career interceptions.
