The Trojans are 19-1 on the season, with their lone loss coming to Cal in the semifinals of the Mountain Pacific Invitational. Had USC won that game, it would have played UCLA in the finals. Since the Trojans were forced to play in the consolation game, tomorrow will be the first time USC and UCLA clash this season.
The winner of the matchup earns the No. 1 seed in the MPSF Tournament, which begins on Nov. 18. The victor also earns points toward the 2016-17 Crosstown Cup, in which the Trojans are currently trailing.
The Bruins are undefeated this season and have won an NCAA-record 57 consecutive matches heading into Saturday.
Tomorrow's meeting will be a rematch of the last two NCAA championship games. Last year, UCLA beat USC, 10-7, and in 2014, UCLA just edged USC by a score of 9-8 to take home the trophy. The Trojans hope to reverse that trend tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Uytengsu Aquatic Center.
