USC CB Adoree' Jackson was named one of 10 semifinalists for the 2016 Lott IMPACT Award, the organization announced today.Click here for the full release!
The award, named for USC legend and College Football Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott, is given yearly to a defensive player who displays excellence in Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity (IMPACT).
Jackson, the only CB in the nation to make the cut, has 42 tackles (1 TFL), 2 INT, 8 passes defensed and 2 fumble recoveries this season. He also ranks seventh in the nation in punt return average (14.7) and kickoff return average (31.2). Earlier this season, he became USC's all-time leader in kickoff return yards, passing Curtis Conway.
He earned Lott IMPACT Player of the Week on Oct. 11 after an impressive showing against Colorado.
One of four team captains this season, Jackson is a communication major with a real estate finance minor. He's demonstrated tenacity in his efforts to pursue both football and track & field here at USC, and despite dedicating half of his year to football, he competed in the Olympic trials to try to earn a trip to Rio this summer.
The Lott IMPACT Trophy will name its four finalists on Nov. 29.
