Five Trojans scored in double figures to lead USC to an 88-54 win over New Orleans last night.

For the first time this year, USC shot out to an early lead and never trailed, ultimately improving to 4-0 on the season. Junior guard Elijah Stewart's 21 points paced the Trojans, who made a season-high 11 threes. Stewart, Shaqquan Aaron and Jonah Mathews hit three 3s each to set the team's three-point clip at 44.0 percent.
Captain Jordan McLaughlin (11 points, 9 assists) and newcomer De'Anthony Melton (10 points, 5 steals) also made a big impact for the Trojans, who had a season-high 42 points at the half and finished with a season-high 88.
The Trojans carried a 30-point lead throughout a large portion of the second half, which allowed freshman Harrison Henderson his first extended playing time of the season. Sam Dhillon, Kurt Karis and Devin Fleming also made an appearance.
Despite the impressive final score, Stewart praised the team's defense more than its offense. "No one is shooting well right now," he said. "We're stopping teams on defense. That's our strong suit this year. Our offense will come."
