USC won the MPSF Tournament and earned the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA men's water polo tournament by beating UCLA, 9-6, in the final on Sunday.

After beating the Bruins, 8-7, in the regular season finale on Nov. 12, USC seemed to have UCLA figured out, never trailing in the title game despite playing in the Bruins' home pool. USC surged to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter, which proved to be the difference, as both teams netted two goals each in each of the remaining three quarters.
Junior goalie McQuin Baron was key in keeping the Trojans ahead, as he racked up 17 saves (two shy of his career high).
Baron and the Trojans earned the top seed in the NCAA tournament by posting a 23-1 record this year. As the top seed, USC heads straight to the NCAA semifinals, which will take place on Dec. 3 in Berkeley, CA.
