Game: The Trojans needed help on the defensive line and Josh Fatu arrived just in time. The JC product was already physically developed, so he could compete at the college level from day one. While he has had to master the playbook and improve his technique to earn more snaps, Fatu is naturally explosive off the ball.
College Career: Fatu has 14 tackles and a sack for the Trojans this season. He's appeared in all eight games, starting one. Prior to USC, he earned 2015 Prep Star JUCO All-American, JC Athletic Bureau All-California Region III first team and All-Southern California Football Association National Division Central League first team (unanimous) honors as a sophomore at LBCC. His 52 tackles, including 14 TFL (with 9.5 sacks), 2 fumble recoveries, a forced fumble and a deflection helped LBCC go 9-2 and win the Beach Bowl in 2015. He prepped at Lakewood High School.
USC head coach Clay Helton on Fatu: "He's playing good ball. He's one of those guys, that I think the light has kind of clicked on for ... We knew that he was a good player, and he's starting to show that in games now, especially on third downs.
