Brad Boxberger, RP, Rays
As the 68th Trojan ever to make the MLB All-Star Game (tomorrow night in Cincinnati), Boxberger is enjoying the best campaign of the bunch. The Tampa closer is 4-5 with a 3.25 ERA, converting 23 of 25 save opportunities.
Tommy Milone, SP, Twins
In 11 starts, the southpaw has been outstanding, sporting a 5-1 record with a sterling 2.84 ERA. Milone (pictured below) has helped Minnesota surge to the second best record in the American League.
Lucas Duda, 1B, Mets
New York (NL) is in playoff contention as well thanks in large part to a hot start to the season, which was keyed by the veteran slugger. Coming off a career year, Duda has maintained the power stroke, cracking 12 home runs to go with 38 RBI and a .775 OPS.
Ian Kennedy, SP, Padres
The former 21-game winner had trouble finding consistency in the first half. He sits at 4-9 on the season with a 4.91 ERA in 16 starts.
Ryan Cook, RP, A's
The powerful reliever enjoyed dominant campaigns the last three seasons, including an All-Star nod in 2012. He sputtered in his four big league appearances this year, so he has spent most of his time in AAA.
Grant Green, IF, Angels
The utility man has also been shuttled between AAA and the majors, hitting .250 in 11 games with the Angels. He continues to make his case for more big league time, hitting .292 for Salt Lake.
J.P. Howell, RP, Dodgers
The veteran reliever, who started his college career at USC and finished at Texas, is having another outstanding season. He is 4-1 with a miniscule 0.35 ERA in 34 appearances for the hometown team.
Danny Coulombe, RP, Dodgers
The southpaw made his major league debut last season, and he has followed up with five more appearances out of the pen in 2015. He owns a 7.56 ERA.
Chad Smith, RP, Free Agent
In his first season with the A's, he was hit around in two appearances, leading to his release. He is currently looking for another team to pick him up.
