USC Sunday ace Mitch Hart was named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American on Wednesday after finishing 7-3 with an ERA of 4.07 in his first year with the Trojans.
The right-hander started 15 games and appeared in 16, pitching 86.1 innings, the second most on the team behind junior Kyle Twomey. The Trojans go-to Sunday starter held opponents to a batting average of .244, which is the second-lowest on the team behind Marc Huberman but Hart faced nearly twice as many batters. This Freshman All-American nomination comes on the heels of the Pac-12 naming Hart an honorable mention to its all-conference team.
