No. 15 USC baseball took two out of three from Stanford this weekend behind dominant pitching performances from junior Kyle Davis and freshman Mitch Hart, who each tossed a complete game shutout. As a staff, the Trojans only allowed the Cardinal to score in one inning in the entire three-game series.
Davis twirled his gem on Friday night, striking out 10, while only allowing 6 hits and 2 walks. The Trojans won the game 1-0 thanks to A.J. Ramirez's team-leading eighth home run of the season.
After falling 3-2 on Saturday, Hart put a smile on the face of all the mothers in attendance, yielding only 5 hits and 3 walks to go along with 6 strikeouts. With the 2-0 victory, the Trojans improved to 34-16 on the year and moved into a tie for second place in the Pac-12 with a record of 15-9.
