A British Olympian forward and a Spanish wing will be welcomed as new additions to the USC women's basketball team for the 2015-16 season. Temi Fagbenle, a forward who participated in the 2012 Olympic Games for Great Britain, is a graduate transfer who recently finished her undergraduate degree in anthropology from Harvard. Candela Abejón will have four years of eligibility as a Trojan after studying at the University de Ovideo in Asturias, Spain for a year.
According to head coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke, Fagbenle will bring maturity, intellect and international experience to the team. Last season at Harvard, the forward averaged 14.4 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. Abejón has averaged 16.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game this season, playing as a wing on her home team in Spain.
