It's not every day that the coaches and players of a team battle head-to-head on the field. For the USC women's lacrosse team however, that's exactly what will happen this June. Sophomore attacker Michaela Michael, junior midfielder Amanda Johansen, and assistant coaches Devon Wills and Alyssa Leonard were each named to the 108-player tryout pool for the 2015-16 U.S. Women's National Team. The four will compete for a chance to represent their country in the 2017 Federation of International Lacrosse Women's World Cup in England during tryouts that will be held June 12-14 in Baltimore.

Wills has served as the goalie for Team USA in each of the last two FIL World Championships. Head coach Lindsey Munday captained the team in 2013, and was also a member during the 2014-15 season.
Michael, the recently named MPSF Player of the Year, is looking to be the youngest Trojan lacrosse player to represent Team USA after wrapping up her sophomore season. Alongside her teammate, and USC team captain Johansen, the duo will work to join their coaches to be considered amongst the nation's best.
