Under the new leadership of Caryl Smith Gilbert, the Trojans have seen an immediate resurgence. In just her second season, the Director of Track & Field has guided both programs into the national Top 5 for the first time since 2008. In the latest rankings, the Women of Troy sit at No. 4, while the men are No. 5.
Trojans have also dominated the weekly conference awards during the outdoor season. A USC track & field athlete has won 11 of the 20 Pac-12 athlete of the week awards given out this spring. Andre De Grasse, Conor McCullough and Tera Novy, who were this week's winners, have each collected multiple conference honors already this spring.
USC track & field will compete at the Triton Invitational in La Jolla this weekend, but mark your calendars for the USC-UCLA Dual Meet coming up May 2-3, hosted by the Trojans at Cromwell Field. The Pac-12 Championships will be in Westwood this season (May 9-17).
