The marathon opening day favored the Trojans who played steady golf from start to finish with all six starters finishing in the Top 22 individually. USC was led by junior Bobby Gojuangco who shot a 1-under 139 (70-69), tying for eighth after the first two rounds. Every member of the team shot between 1-under and 3-over.

With 36 holes still to play starting early this morning, USC has work to do to clinch its first conference title since 2011. No. 3 Arizona State is six back, while No. 13 Stanford and host Washington State began the day 11 strokes behind.
