No. 8 USC men's tennis has not always been its typical dominant self this year, but now that it is trophy time, here come the Trojans. USC powered through UCLA and Stanford over the weekend to claim another Pac-12 Championship.
The Trojans clinched the title in dramatic fashion thanks to senior captain Eric Johnson, who broke the 3-3 deadlock by defeating his Cardinal opponent 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 on court No. 2. Head coach Peter Smith tweaked his lineup late in the season to move Johnson up to No. 2 and fellow senior Roberto Quiroz back to No. 3, and they both came through with singles victories in the Pac-12 final.

USC will enjoy some time off now to rest its legs for another national championship run. Winners of five of the last six NCAA crowns, the Trojans will likely host the first and second rounds on May 8 and 9 at Marks Stadium.
