USC opened up the Florida Relays on Friday in fantastic fashion with 15 Trojans posting personal records. Senior BeeJay Lee took second in the men's 100m in a blazing fast time of 10.09 and De Grasse placed third with a PR of 10.11. De Grasse's time moved him into eighth place on USC's all-time list. The duo now have the two fastest legal college 100m dash times in the country this season.
De Grasse also secured a spot in the USC all-time top 10 in both the 200m and 4x100m relay earning him Pac-12 Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors. His PR of 20.20 in the 200m, the fastest time in the country this season, vaulted him to fourth on the school's all-time list. The junior then ran the second leg of the 4x100m relay which finished first among college teams in 38.97. The mark is eighth on USC's all-time list and is the fastest Trojan time in the event since 2005.
The freshman Hill, who was named the Pac-12 Women's Track Athlete of the Week, was the top college runner and second overall in the 200m dash with a PR of 22.88. Her time is the fastest in the country by a college runner this year and ties her for eighth on USC's all-time list. She also set a PR in in the 100m of 11.44 and ran the lead off leg for the team's winning 4x100-meter relay which clocked a time of 43.85.
Fellow freshman Randall Cunningham (pictured) rounded out the action for the Trojans in Florida on Saturday, finishing second in the high jump with a mark of 7-4.25 which moved him into fifth on USC's all-time list and just a quarter of an inch away from the school's freshman record.
Back home in California, a duo of throwers dominated for the Trojans with McCullough winning the men's hammer throw with a mark of 233-7 and Novy winning both the discus and shot put competitions with throws of 182-10 and 45-4.25 respectively. McCullough's winning throw is the best in the country this year and moved him to fifth on USC's all-time list. The pair were named the Pac-12 Men's and Women's Field Athletes of the Week.
The men's team is currently ranked No. 5 and the women's team is No. 7 in the most recent USTFCCCA rankings announced on Monday. Next up, a handful of Trojans will compete in the Jim Click Shootout on April 11 in Tucson before heading to the annual Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. from April 16-17.
