The Other Johnson

The current USC men's tennis dynasty was built on the back of Steve Johnson, who won four team national championships and two individual NCAA titles in four years, but the surname is not out of game. Eric Johnson, a senior captain, already has two NCAA rings, and he is pacing the Trojans' pursuit of a third in his four years.

E.J. is 13-1 in dual match singles play, scoring three more points individually than any other player on the roster. For his three latest wins at the Oracle Challenge at Indian Wells, where the Trojans went 2-1 as a team, Johnson was named Pac-12 Player of the Week for the second time this season.

USC returns to Marks Stadium this week for Pac-12 dual matches against Washington (Friday at 3 p.m.) and Oregon (Saturday at Noon).
