Playing Great Like '88

At 8-0, USC baseball is off to its best start since 1988 after sweeping Oakland in a three-game series at Dedeaux Field this past weekend. The Trojans had to wait out a two hour and 20 minute rain delay to celebrate their latest victory Sunday, but the weather could not wash away the positive mojo flowing through the clubhouse right now.

The Trojans' bats have ignited the fast start, scoring at least five runs in every game and averaging nine runs per contest. The offensive attack is balanced as can be with nine USC regulars hitting over .300 paced by senior catcher Garrett Stubbs who is 16/33 (.485 BA) on the season.

USC travels up the road to Fresno State tomorrow (6:35 p.m. first pitch) before hosting Fordham in a three-game series at Dedeaux Field this weekend.
