USC men's golf won its third title of the season on Tuesday at the Jones Invitational in Valencia thanks to another impressive performance from Sean Crocker. The freshman finished at 8-under for the tournament forcing a playoff with Winthrop's Zach Seabolt for first place; however, he lost on the second hole of the playoff when Seabolt sunk a 15-foot birdie to win the tournament. Crocker's final round of 66 pushed USC to a 16-stroke victory with three other Trojans finishing in the top 11 to contribute to the winning effort.
Crocker is a freshman phenomenon with four top 4 finishes already this season for the No. 4 ranked Trojans. He leads the team with 14 rounds of play in the 60s in 24 outings with six of those in just nine spring rounds. Sophomore Rico Hoey continues to impress after a breakout freshman season finishing fourth on Tuesday, which is his fifth top 5 performance so far this season. Rounding out the four Trojans in the top 11 at the Jones Invitational were freshman Jonah Texeira (tied for sixth) and junior Bobby Gojuangco (11th).
Up next for the Trojans is a trip to Vegas as No. 4 USC will compete in the Southern Highland Collegiate Masters beginning on March 9.
