Crespo was born in El Salvador and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2008, after already having served the United States for six years in the Army. For her work in Iraq, she earned the Army Achievement Award and the Army Good Conduct Medal.
Earlier this year, she graduated from USC with a Master in Business for Veterans degree from the Marshall School of Business.
