Position: Forward
Class: Freshman
Size: 6-foot-11, 215 pounds
Age: 18
High School: Lawndale High School
Game: The freshman brings raw talent and length to this Trojan roster. Metu is a force in the paint with tremendous shot-blocking ability and will be a terror on the boards. Give him a little time at the collegiate level to develop his post moves and jumper and the 6-foot-11 forward will become a physical threat on the block for the Trojans.
Prep Career: Metu is a Los Angeles native like his freshman counterpart Bennie Boatwright. He comes from Lawndale where he averaged 18 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks a game, earning him the John R. Wooden Award and the CIF Southern Section Division II Player of the Year recognition.
Freshman Fall: Metu has quickly adjusted to the collegiate pace of play, averaging 16 minutes per game off the bench. He has made every minute count, totaling 23 blocks in 9 games to lead the nation's second best shot blocking team. Metu scored a career-high 10 points in the recent road win at Santa Barbara.
Enfield on Metu: "He is an elite athlete. He provides outstanding protection at the rim. It is always nice a few times a game, when you get beat and someone gets by you, to have someone there who can change a shot."
