No. 4 USC men's water polo reigned victorious over the No. 7 UC Irvine Anteaters on Sunday, outscoring them 14-8. Junior driver Blake Edwards scored four times, sandwiched around a five-goal run in the second frame.Â
The win capped off the team's Senior Day celebrations, honoring soon-to-be alums Mac Carden and Gerrit Hill.
A redshirt senior, Carden has been USC's standout veteran two-meter on a roster heavy with young talent. He helped the team capture three NCAA titles and make four trips to the final in his time as a Trojan. As a redshirt freshman, Carden netted eight goals for USC. He'd keep his scoring campaign going with a whopping 18 goals as a redshirt sophomore, and add on 16 more last season. He's recorded 18 goals in 2015.
Hill, a driver from Aliso Viejo, saw his first action with the Trojans in 2014 after transferring from Orange Coast College in 2013.
The Trojans have one last MPSF match-up to finish the regular season, heading across town to battle against rival UCLA on Sunday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m. PT.
